Bob Sainz -Lead Pastor
Bob Sainz committed his life to the Lord after spending 10 years as a cocaine dealer and drug addict. Bob realized his need for God after his cocaine addiction had brought him to a weight of 90 lbs. He lost everything, including his home on the beach and was separated from all those who loved him. He stole from friends and family, breaking all ties with anyone who could help him. He tried to stop using drugs, tried to stop dealing, but the sin had too much power over his life.
On September 15, 1985 he got down on his knees and prayed, “Jesus if you are real, take this cocaine addiction away from me.” The next morning he woke up and tried to use drugs, but immediately became very sick. Thinking this was strange he tried again, but after multiple attempts over the course of three days, he finally realized God had delivered him from drugs. No rehab, no withdrawal, simply the power of God!
Bob, amazed at grace of God, began to pursue an opportunity to help those who struggle with sin. After attending bible college, he worked in youth ministry for 15 years. He has ministered in youth conventions, youth retreats and youth camps.
In 2001 he, along with his wife, Laura, and their two children, Victoria and Robert John, moved to Olean to take the Pastorate at New Beginnings.
Since then, New Beginnings has seen a 70% increase in attendance and continues to bring in new families each week. He has seen God restore and renew his own life, and for this reason he has a passion for Christ and a deep love for the lost. With God, all things are possible!
